AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She plays as an attacker and captain for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the most prestigious division of women's soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team along with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from the year 2018 to 2020. [8][99 Morgan was picked as number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she completed her degree early at the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her professional debut at the club and was instrumental in helping the team win the league championship. Morgan 22, then 22 years young, was the youngest national player to play at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 where she placed second. In the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goal the 123rd minute in the semi-final against Canada. She finished 2012 with 21 goals and 28 assists and was able to join Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and provide 20 assists in the same calendar year and she became the sixth and the youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in one season. She was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and was a FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan was also integral in the United States winning their titles at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the FIFA Women's World Championships in 2019. She was named to both the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
